Sick baby girl

The day after Christmas I woke up to find Kiley like the picture above, on the floor in my bedroom.  I thought it was weird but she got up about 9:00am and was acting fine.  I then noticed her sticking her finger in her ear a lot but when I asked if it hurt she said no.

And at 9:45am I found her like this!  This is my child who never sleeps.  She never, I mean NEVER took good naps.  As an infant she would take cat naps, 20 minutes her and there.  So at this point I knew something wasn't right.  When she woke up I asked about her ear again and she said yes it hurt.  So I called the Dr and got her in that afternoon.  I had to get her better because we were heading to St Louis the next day.

We went to the Dr and found out that she had an ear infection.  She was acting fine at the Dr and after we headed to Target to pick up a few things.  While we were shopping she was starting to fall asleep in the cart.  I felt her head and she was starting to get hot.  We headed home and gave her all her meds and she fell asleep again.

Her ear was draining so bad.  About every 30 minutes I was changing the cotton ball because it was completely soaked.  She is such a tough girl, she never really complained.  At this point I thought we weren't going to be making our St Louis trip :(  Thankfully antibiotics work miracles and she woke up the next day feeling much better!  We made it to St Louis :)

I found out at her 5 year well check that she had a HORRIBLE ear infection!  She had a blister on her ear that had ruptured.  Thankfully it didn't rupture her ear drum and didn't cause any damage but 3 weeks later there was still some signs of that blister being in her ear.  As Kiley says, she was one tough cookie!
