Please pray

I'm not sure if anyone reads this blog besides my family, but I thought if it means one other person is praying then GREAT!!!

My best friends husband was in a really bad work related accident on Thursday Aug 27. Josh works construction and fell 20 feet, landing in the push up position breaking both wrist. He had surgery on his right wrist on Friday and now has plates and pins in it. His left wrist is in a splint, he should be able to wear a removable brace on that wrist.

When he fell he hit his face, smashing his nose and eye sockets. He is having reconstruction surgery on his face tomorrow. The surgery will take 5 hours. They are taking bone from his skull to reconstructed his nose. They will be going in through his bottom eyelids and the roof of his mouth to reconstruct everything.

He is very lucky to be alive, this whole thing could be much worse. Right now we are counting our blessings for how lucky he was but also praying that God will be with all the Dr's and nurses that work on Josh. Please also pray for Natalie while Josh is having surgery, pray that she feels calm during all of this.

Natalie and I have been friends since first grade and I hate seeing her go through this with Josh, they haven't even celebrated there first wedding anniversary yet. These two are the greatest, most caring, would drop everything in one minute to help you couple. I love them so much and can't wait for a full recovery for Josh, and who knows maybe he will come out of surgery tomorrow looking like Matthew McConaughey, hey girls can dream, right?!?!

Dance Class

Last week the girls started dance class...well Hailey started dance class and Kiley started free play :) Hailey goes to class on Wednesday's for a half hour, the first 15 minutes they do tap and then the last 15 minutes they do ballet. She did really well for never taking dance before, I think she will be a pro in no time. I want to see how she does this year and I might put her on the Tiny Competition team next year for only hip hop. My pictures of her in class are really bad, I was taking them through the tiny window next to the door to the class.






Kiley's class is on Friday's it is also 30 min, Cole and Keira are in the same class. This first class the teacher wanted them to get comfortable with the surroundings so it was more or less just a free time. They crawled through tunnels, walked on a balance beam, played with hula hoops, and used lots of different sensory things. They all had lots of fun!!!

18 months

So I'm a little late on this post but at least I'm getting it posted!! I'm not exactly sure how it is possible that my baby girl is 18 months but it is!! Kiley is weighing in at 25 1/2 lbs and standing 33 inches tall :)

Kiley has been so funny lately, she giggles all the time for no reason. Every time she laughs she wrinkles her nose and it is just the cutest face ever. She loves to give "knucks" exploding "knucks" at that, complete with sound effects. "Knucks" are just hitting your knuckles together.

Kiley is not much of a talker unless the word is no or no no no no no or even nooooooooooooo!!
She will say Mommy, Daddy, Gog for dog, yep, gac-gas (glasses), hi, up, go and every once in a while we get a Mawmaw and Pawpaw. I'm not to concerned about her not talking because she still communicates to us very well and understands things we tell her. If we ask her to get a diaper she does, or tell her to put her drink in the sink she will. So in time she will start to talk but until then I'm enjoying the silent Kiley :)

This little 1 1/2 year old sure does have a temper! If she doesn't get what she wants she will scream and cry and sometimes kick and if she has a toy in her hand you better watch out because most likely that toy is getting launched!! I'm not sure how to get control over this because it is new to me. Right now we are placing her in time out. I put her in time out and I tell her to sit there until she is done crying and when she wants to dry her tears she may get up. I leave her there for about a minute and when I go back to her I say are you done? are you gonna dry your tears and she will look at me with her bottom lip out and shake her head yes and wipe away her tears :) Its working for now so I'm gonna continue using that method.

Kiley is a great eater, unlike her big sister! Kiley eats everything, this summer her favorite thing has been corn on the cob and potato salad. She had steak for the first time a few nights ago and chowed on it. I love having a child that eats food :) its great and not to mention super easy!!!

It makes me sad to think that in 6 months I will be celebrating her 2nd birthday :( I have no idea where the past 18 months have gone but I do know I have LOVED every second of being Kiley Maureen's mommy. I can't imagine my life without 2 little girls in it, God has blessed me beyond measure!!

Vacation 2010

This year we went to Jacksonville Florida with my brother Cory and his family and my brother Tommy and his family. We had 6 kids and 3 of the 6 were under the age of 1 1/2 BUT it was SO much fun!!! We made some wonderful memories and I love the time I got to spend with all my family!!



We left Friday around 6:30 pm, the plan was to drive all night and get there early Saturday morning but traffic had a different idea for us. We got about 4 hours away and hit a 20 mile back up. Not knowing how long we would be at a stand still we turned around found a hotel and finished it on Saturday. The girls did great the whole drive, they watched lots of movies and slept.
We made it!!!!

Hailey at the beach!!! She loved it, I think she would have stayed there all day! Kiley on the other hand hated everything about the beach. She cried the whole time we were there. I'm not sure if she hated the beach or was cranky because it was nap time. Needless to say we only went to the beach one time. I hope our next vacation Kiley will be more of a fan!

We spent one day in St Augustine, it is such a cute town. I would love to go back sometime in the WINTER!! Holy cow it was SO hot!!! It was also hard to go in all the shops with a cadillac stroller but we all had lots of fun.

I had a great vacation with them. I'm so happy that my brother Cory's mom opened her house to all of us. Thank you so much Mel!!!!


We headed home Friday around noon, we knew we would be stopping on the way home we just didn't know where. We made it just outside of Nashville before we stopped for the night around 10:30. We got up Saturday around 7:30 and finished the drive. We had a great vacation and I can't wait to have many more family vacations!!
