It's the most wonderful time of the year...

That's right folks, it is the most wonderful time of the year...IT"S SUMMER!!!!!! And summer means this...

and all that swimming leads to tired babies

Oh how I love summer days spent by the pool with family :)

Planting Flowers

Saturday we went to Menard's to buy flowers and they had flowers for 99 cents!!!! I felt like we hit the jackpot :) When we got home I had some of the best helpers around to help me plant flowers...I mean throw dirt everywhere!!

Hailey was more into planting then Kiley was. Kiley just wanted to take her shovel and throw dirt all over the deck and then try to dig up the flowers a I just planted. I told Hailey it was her job to help me water them every night. I'm so glad to finally have my flowers planted, this is the longest we have waited to plant them. I usually have them done by Mother's Day but time just kept getting away from me. Not to mention the weather has been horrible, but we have finally hit some 80 degree days and I hope it stays :)

Mother's Day 2010

These two little girls are the reasons I get to celebrate Mother's Day :) I love being their mommy. I love the kisses, the I love you's, the NO's from Kiley, the giggles, the screams and cries. I love all the things they are teaching me. This past year they have taught me to just sit back and take it all in. I have been trying very hard this year to enjoy EVERY part of being a mommy, screams, cries, fights, no, and sharing my bed with them. I know all of these things will only last for a little while. All to soon there will be a day when they won't want to share a bed with us or take a nap on the couch with me, so I'm gonna take it all in while I can!

Hailey and Kiley you both bring so much joy to my life. I love watching you grow everyday. Hailey you make my day every evening when I pick you up from school and you come running to me yelling MOMMY!!!!! Kiley Maureen I love how you just walk up to me and give me a kiss, with your mouth wide open. I can't imagine life without the two of you. I love you both more then you will ever know!!

We celebrated Mother's Day with church in the morning then having my mom and dad, brothers, sister-n-laws, niece's and nephews over for a cookout. It was a beautiful day outside, the kids played outside and Chris grilled chicken. We ate entirely way to much food and celebrated our Mom. I'm so thankful for my mom and all the things she has taught me about being a mommy. All day I thought about Chris' mom, about how different things would be if she was here. I didn't get to know her but I still miss her everyday. I know she is watching over us and I know she celebrated with us.

Hailey's "new" room

When I was pregnant with Hailey and Chris and I were talking about painting her room Chris said " NO PINK" He said there would be enough pink around that he didn't want a pink room also. Which is really funny now because Kiley's room is 2 shades of pink!!! Anyways...so we decided to paint her room yellow. We wanted to have it a light yellow with dark yellow stripes. Well we didn't have enough of a contrast between the 2 yellows so all of Chris's hard work was kinda for nothing because you couldn't see the strips. I thought the room was cute but I just wasn't in love with it and after we painted Kiley's room and I was in love with her room, I needed Hailey's room to change. So last weekend we said good-bye yellow and hello purple!!
And I can say that I am now in love with Hailey's room :)

The before...
All my pictures from 2006 are no longer on the computer so this is the only picture I could find of a before, you can kinda get the idea.

Now the after...

I love, love, love it!!!!! Chris did such a great job coming up with the design of the diamonds and getting it all painted in 2 days. Now I love both of my girls rooms :)

Throwing fits

Throwing fits is a new thing that Kiley has been doing. Maybe I should give Kiley's definition of throwing fits...throwing herself on the carpet, hardwoods, concrete or whatever is under her, laying herself flat most of the time on her belly and kicking (yes, I said kicking) and screaming, and might I add she has crocodile tears all while this is going on.

Well the other day Kiley threw one of her fits because I wouldn't let her go upstairs. I mean I see every reason for her to throw one of these fits, seeing how I didn't want her climbing up the steps and falling down them and busting her head open!!! I mean what kind of mom am I, not letting her do that :) Anyways...so Kiley walked into the kitchen and threw herself backwards, hitting her head on the hardwood floor. When I went over to console her she looked at me with a look like I can't believe you just pushed me over and made me hit my head. She then crawled under her highchair and continued her "fit" You ask what I was doing during her "fit" Well I'm glad you asked...

I took pictures of course!!!!Her fits are so often now a days that I just enjoy them. I make sure she isn't hurt, try to console her and when she doesn't allow me to I take pictures and sometimes laugh. I have to make the best of it. I know this is just a stage and will soon pass but since this blog is my scrapbook to our life I had to share.

Kiley Maureen, as much as I love the fits that you throw I would love EVEN more for them to STOP :)
