Lollipop cakes

The girls and I made lollipop cakes for Easter Sunday and the were so yummy. At first the girls had lots of fun making the lollipop cakes but towards the end they were a little over it. First step was to crumble up the cake!
Then it was time to stir in the frosting
and every good cook must try their creation
after we rolled the cake/frosting mixture into balls we put them in the freezer to firm up a little, by the time I melted the chocolate and was ready to cover the cake balls in chocolate the girls were over it!

and I must say I was too!!! While making these lollipop cakes I had the brilliant idea that I would also pick that same day to start potty training Kiley...genius I am :) So about every 5 min, while trying to cover the lollipop cakes in chocolate I would have to stop because Kiley had to pee-pee. This would take about 5 minutes each time! These lollipop cakes were also a mess to make, the girls got sprinkles EVERY WHERE!!! Those little sprinkles sure can bounce :) they were all over my kitchen and bounced on my hardwood floors into my living room, laundry room and half bath! Needless to say I didn't take a picture of the finished product because I was too worried about getting the mess cleaned up, seeing how we can have a showing on our house at any time! The lollipop cakes were very yummy and I think the next time I make them I will be kid free :)

Coloring Eggs

This year coloring eggs was so much fun! Both girls were really into it and much to my surprise we didn't have any big messes :) and that equals one happy mommy!!!! It is so crazy what a difference a year make, last year Kiley wasn't big enough to use the dye so she just colored on one egg and Hailey was spilling dye every time we turned around. Hailey was really into using two different colors for her eggs and having one half one color and the other half another color. I'm already looking forward to doing eggs next year, I know it will be so much more fun then this year!

Hello POTTY TRAINING!!

Saturday is a yucky rainy day, so what better thing to do then start potty training Kiley. I'm hoping she gets the hang of things as quickly as her older sis did! Hailey was SO easy to potty train it only really took one weekend, she had accidents ever once in awhile but not very many. Kiley has been telling us when she has pee and poop in her diaper so I think she is ready for the adventure of potty training. I'm just not so sure this mommy and daddy are up for it also. Potty training is exhausting, we are running to the bathroom every 30 minutes just hoping she is gonna go. It will be so nice when I don't have to buy diapers anymore!! I would hate to know the dollar amount that I have spent in diapers over the last 4 1/2 years!

Ouchies

On Thursday when I picked up the girls from daycare Hailey had a note in her cubby that said she fell on the playground and scraped her face. I went in to the big room at school to get Hailey and she was in the potty, so I was talking to the teacher and then all of a sudden my little angel baby walked up to me and this is what I saw...

OH MY GOOD GRACIOUS!!!!! Those are the exact words that came out of my mouth, I was shocked by what I saw. I was expecting just some minor scrapes on her face based on what the note in her cubby said, I was not expecting burns also. The playground at their school has rubber mats to help protect them when they fall. The mats don't do such a good job when the kids go face first :) Hailey said she was walking fast and lost her balance and fell face first :( To top it all off the girls are having their pictures taken this weekend. I guess we will have forever memories of Hailey's first big ouchie on her face!
