7 years old

Hailey Lauren you are now 7, how in the world is this possible???  I hate that you are growing up so quickly but I'm so proud of the little girl you are becoming.  You are definitely becoming a "kid"  You like to spend your time in your room with your music blasting and making up dances.  You still play with your babies, play house and have started playing school.

You are loving first grade and you are a straight A student on your first quarter progress report.  Your daddy and I are so proud of the student you are.  Homework is so easy with you, the minute you get home from school you sit down and do your homework with no problems.  You love to read and are reading at a level of a first grader in their 6 month of school :) Your only 2 months into school!!!  You make us SO proud and although I don't want you to grow up I can't wait to see what the future holds for you.

This year both girls are cheering for football :)  I love it that Kiley can participate this year.  Both girls are loving cheer!  I wasn't sure Kiley would be able to pick up on the cheers because I have her on Hailey's team which is 1st and 2nd graders but she is doing an awesome job :)  I'm so proud of my girls!

Kiley's 1st day of Pre K

Let me be honest, I was scared to death thinking about Kiley starting Pre K!!  She is such a strong willed child that it scares the crap out of me.  She has no problem telling you no when you ask her to do something or when you ask her to write her name telling you that she doesn't want to right now.  Yep that is everything a teacher DREADS!!!

Thankfully Kiley woke up super excited to start Pre K and I couldn't of been more happy about it!  Not only was she excited but she is doing awesome in Pre K :)  Makes this momma happy.  She has Pre K 3 days a week and on Tue and Thur she tells me she wishes she had class :)

2 front teeth

Hailey finally lost her other top tooth!!! She lost the first one before school started which caused the other tooth to take up that space also. She looked so silly but SO cute! I kept telling her that she needed to get the other tooth out before school pictures and it fell out the day before :)

1st day of 1st grade

How in the whole is Hailey already in 1st grade?!?!?!?  I promise you just yesterday she entered this world.  It's so true what everyone says about time going faster when kids are in school.

She was so excited for the first day.  I'm so thankful that she loves school.  For about 2 weeks before school started every morning she would ask me if it was time for school yet.  I hope this is how she will be when she is in high school also.

 The backpack was a huge deal this year!!  We went to 4 different stores before finally picking one.  She didn't want a character backpack this year :(  How does that happen in 1st grade?

and she is off :(  Another year that will pass by too quickly :(

4th of July

Unlike our last 3 or 4 years of July 4th's this one was very quite.  It was a cloudy, cool day.  So weird for July but then again I was very thankful because our AC went out.  Yes, it went out this exact same week last year, only difference it was 100 + degrees last year and in the 70-80's this year.

We went to my parents and the girls swam we had lots of yummy food and did a few fireworks before we headed downtown to Chris' work to enjoy the show that downtown Indianapolis puts on.  This has now become a tradition and the girls love it.  We head down around 6:30/7ish and the girls have fun playing with chalk, throwing a football and eating lots of snacks.
